Christine Ödlund

Christine Ödlund (b.1963) lives and works in Stockholm. Her work deals with the ability to transcend language barriers between people and plants and barriers between the invisible and the visible. In elaborate images, Ödlund develops an intriguing and refined imagery that seeks to visualize extensive processes such as chemical and astronomical phenomena. Ödlund's fine-tuned sensibility and poignant accuracy explore phenomena and worlds that humans, with our limited senses, scarcely can perceive. Her interest in science as well as esoteric knowledge allows for surprising connotations. Her materials are plants and sounds, natural circuits and future visions, greenhouses and laboratory environments, occultism and science - all in a constant pendulum movement between the smallest particles and the unfathomable. She graduated from EMS Elektronmusikstudion (the center for Swedish electroacoustic music and sound-art), Stockholm in 2004 , the Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm in 1996, and Konstfack, Stockholm in 1995.
